The recipe below is for Amarula Cream Truffles; these will be gobbled up in one go and your family and friends will be begging you for more.
Ingredients:
1 kg dark chocolate
1 ½ cups fresh cream
500 g butter
1 cup Amarula cream liqueur
Cocoa powder
Finely ground almonds
Instructions:
Break up the chocolate into tiny pieces.
In a saucepan with a thick bottom, melt the chocolate and the cream together over a low heat; give the chocolate a stir with a fork now and then.
Cut up the butter and when the mixture has almost melted add the butter and stir until the mixture is smooth; keep the heat very gentle.
Remove from heat and stir in the Amarula cream.
Let the mixture cool and set – but not for too long – in the fridge.
On the side prepare the sifted cocoa powder and finely ground almonds.
Use a small spoon to scoop out walnut-sized pieces of the chocolate mixture, shape into balls or oval sizes and roll each one in the cocoa and almonds.
Chocolate Truffles
You can cover your truffles with glaze cherries or any array of other toppings; anything will go with this delicious dessert. These can be frozen, but just remember to serve them at room temperature.
